Offset Press Operator (30 hrs/week)

The printing industry is an ever evolving and rapidly changing trade. Our field spans across many different media and requires lifelong learning. Our shop is fast paced and provides products and services primarily to other businesses.

Description:

Super Press Operator required. This position will operate a sheet fed offset press, specifically a Heidelberg QM46.

  • Must demonstrate sufficient understanding of every component of the offset printing press in order to discern origin of potential problem

  • Ensure sure printed jobs are of the highest quality

Requirements:

  • Must properly wash and clean press according to standard operating guidelines
  • Maintain a clean, neat and organized press room
  • Constantly monitor print jobs to ensure minimal waste
  • Must be able to lift and slide up to 60 pounds
  • Take maintenance seriously: while there is down time, whether planned or unplanned, the press operator keeps the machine in good working order through preventive maintenance
  • Immediately notify shop/production manager of any equipment issues
  • Operate plate making equipment as well as any other associated offset press equipment
  • Order press supplies as needed and maintain sufficient supplies to prevent press downtime
